I love finding new SEO tools. Sometimes the tools introduce a completely new concept such as the SEODigger.com tool which finds the keywords a URL ranks for - other times it’s a new tool that simplifies and expedites common SEO tasks, or combines commonly used tools into a single more effecient tool.

saw-shortcut-screen1.jpgThe SEO Shortcut widget from submitawebsite.com doesn’t introduce any crazy new concepts, but it does combine a bunch of commonly used SEO ‘tools’ (or rather shortcuts - explained below) into one quickeasy to use interface. The final product is one slick SEO interface that in a few short weeks will even be available for SEOers to add to their own websites!

So what is the SEO Shortcut Widget?

It’s a simple, single page interface that brings togather over a dozen commonly used ’tools’ or rather shortcuts. The tools are really just simple shortcuts that populate a central frame with results for searches like “Google indexed pages”, “Yahoo inbound links” and a dozen other common information gathering searches.

Check for inbound links by engine:

  • Google backlinks
  • Yahoo backlinks

Checked for cached pages:

  • Archive.com (Way Back Machine) pages

  • Whois Information (WhoIs.net)
  • IP/DNS/Registrar Lookup

  • Show Alexa ranking

  • Check W3 Markup Validation
  • Check W3 CSS Validation

Final notes on the SEO Shortcuts Widget (beta)

It’s the quickness of the results and clean interface that won this tool a slot in my ‘favorite seo tools’ list. I’ve only just discovered it, and already I’ve managed to save a ton of time on some projects I had going today and have afew ideas how I can put this tool to some good use on a few other projects!

Although I’ve only just found this tool, it was first introduced back in November, so it may not be ‘news’ to everyone. It’s still in Beta so there are a few minor bugs here and there, so be sure to let the submitawebsite.com guys know if you see something ‘out of place’. I already noticed that the ”Yahoo Links” shortcut was broken and let them know.

saw-submit-a-website_logo.gifI’d like to say thank you to Adrienne, who answered my live chat ping. She was very nice and extremely helpful, filling me in on all the details I had questions about regarding the tool. I’ve not used their services before, and I’m not an affiliate for any of their products, but I want to say that my exerience with them today left me with nothing but extremely positive things to say about them.

Thanks for the SEO Shortcuts widget guys - we’re looking forward to the final tool, keep up the good stuff!
