Google has another experiment going at Labs.Google.com integrating social influence into results priority. Imagine if Google had a horrbile industrial accident and was repaired using spare parts from Digg (roll ‘$6 Million Dollar Man’ theme song)

The experiment gives Google users the freedom to push up and down search results, and suggest other pages. It’s not likely that this functionality would ever make it to the main natural listings since it raises obvious spamming concerns, but it I could see this making it’s way into the already bloated optional niche search tools.

It might even make an integrated appearance at times (like Images, Video and News results post-Google Universal update)

Either way it’s very interesting and I look forward to seeing the reactions around the industry to this new experiment.
